DON'T BELONG TOGETHER
How can the quintessential Renaissance man and prolific observer of every facet of life miss the exploration of the human emotion of love, that key ingredient of our human existence? Leonardo is resoundingly silent, a strange dichotomy for an explorer of his caliber
- Writer, filmmaker, and interior designer Caroline Cocciardi spent a decade on these questions
- She found answers in a minute pattern of interlocking knots on Mona Lisa’s dress The Mona Lisa Reveals New Secrets
- Caroline Cocciardi on the Original Da Vinci Code

There is only one definite known fact about the "Mona Lisa" painting. Leonardo da Vinci NEVER relinquished ownership of the portrait and for 16 years it remained in his possession until his death in France in 1519.

Crowned the greatest artist, draftsman and inventor,
Leonardo's interest ran the gamut. Leonardo records every observation as a third party spectator of life.

Leonardo's observations are found in one of 24 notebooks.
He wrote approximately 7,000 pages known as "Codices".

However, when it comes to his personal life-as to his thoughts or feelings little is found in his 7,000 pages of notes. Perhaps looking at his family life would give us some insight: but again, it does not reveal much as the heart of the man. Leonardo da Vinci never married, never had any children. He is was born out of wedlock to a peasant who did not retain custody of her son.
Let no man read me who is not a mathematician"
~Leonardo da Vinci
